It is said (and I agree) that the purpose of life is to experience who you are. This is best done in the presence of what you are not. For instance, light has no meaning if all there is is light. Only by its absence can we know what it is and its value.
Even though we are from the same source, we are all different. And while we contain every thing within us, we manifest different aspects of the one.
The question which has come up is how do we know what aspects we are? Meaning, how do we know what we have chosen to represent in this life? If we can understand that, perhaps we would be able to contact the energy which we resonate best with, and use it to help us remember who we are, and do some incredible things.
I've always wondered about the Chinese and Astrological Zodiacs. Each one represents a very different aspect of an energy.
The Astrological ones are divided into 12 aspects (Or 13, if you believe that one has been missed out, as some have theorized.) Each aspect if further divided into 4 parts.
The Chinese ones are divided into 12 animals. Each animal has five elements to them. (Earth, wood, metal water and fire.) They cycle each year.
This gives 108 aspects of energy. Further more, each person is at least two of these aspects.
Then you've got the yin/yang side of things. Such as the Chinese Dragon is yang while the Phoenix is the yin side. I am not aware of the others, so if anyone out there has any clues, I'd love to know.
If yin and yang are completely different aspects, this doubles the possible aspects to 216.
The question is, which is you?
I believe that the zodiacs may be a sign post to who you are. They may point you towards the energies which you are most compatible with. They might even be considered a starting point for who you are, and what you wish to experience about yourselves.
This does not lock you into who you are, but rather, it gives you certain attributes with which to work with. I think it very much depends on your purpose, your intentions, and what you want to achieve out of life, to which energies you'll resonate with.
As it is, this is something I've not thought much of before, so this theory is still in its early stages.
Thanks to Diana on her insights into this and helping me to flesh this one out.
