Symptoms: For those of fanatical views, who are dogmatic, and wish to convert others to their way of thinking.
Loneliness
Lack of Interest in life
The Vervain type is one who has very fixed ideas and wishes others to share them, too. They will often talk quite feverishly about their subject, and try to convert others to their way of thinking. Religious fanatics are an example of that.

Also the person who can't see others point of view or those who are almost hyperactive about their beliefs would benefit greatly from this remedy.

Sometimes I think I should be taking it with my passion for Bach Flower Remedies!

It's also useful for those who are over tired or too wound up to sleep.

For Empaths:

For the empath, it's when one has an overwhelming desire to help and fix others. And they do this by spreading their philosophies to others like a broken record, taking offence when those others do not seem to listen to their words of wisdom.

It is said that our bad points are our good points turned up a notch too high. By toning them down, you achieve a better balance, and are able to give advice as needed, rather than advise that is not wanted.

Vervain is the remedies for those who can't pull back or stop focusing on an idea on an obsessive level.
